Monmouthshire council gave all their staff access to social media sometime in 2011. Guess what?
• it’s working well
• staff are using it to help customers and do their jobs better
• it is being used to provide advice and guidance to residents
• it’s not being abused
• staff aren’t giving away secrets they are not being rude
• they managed the process in a grown up and trustworthy way
• there are established rules of behaviour anyway so social media does not change this
• it had the Chief Exec’s support from the start
