Local councils are also consulting on spending cuts

According to www.localgov.co.uk George Osborne’s proposal to consult the public about public spending is not new. Apparently Norfolk County council has already embarked on a similar exercise. In this article http://www.localgov.co.uk/index.cfm?method=news.detail&id=89551 the Chief Exec outlines the lessons learned from the public where their  own discussions about how a fit-for-the-future county council should look are already underway.

It is likely that more and more councils will embark on similar public engagement exercises over the coming months. As pointed out in our top ten tips post it will be important that they use the right methods to get this right.  Watch this space!
